I'd like to read the autobiography of James D Watson, since he's from my natal town, Cold Spring Harbor, and many people appreciate him there.

Good for her, and good on the Swedish Academy too for having the guts to nominate such a little-known writer. Surely they must have anticipated all the hue and cry from the rest of the world for disregarding the plethora of bestselling A-list authors. I made a post too about Muller (you can find it on my blog) and wrote about her in more detail including her literary influences and life background. Have a look if you'd like to learn more about her :)

I shared the DVD of Swiss Family Robinson with my son as he was growing up (he is 21 now) and he was as excited about the story as I was as a child. Proof of why classics continue to be classics.

I remember reading this book and doing a book report as a part of a college class "On Death and Dying" back in the early 1970s.
The book was only a few years in circulation. Public speaking is very difficult for me, but yet, I think it was the best oral report that I ever presented in my academic years.
The information is still valuable as I work with our hospice clients and also helping me to understand the grief process as I have lost family members and friends.
